This obi harmoniously blends the exquisite artistry of the Rimpa School—Tawaraya Sōtatsu, Ogata Kōrin, Sakai Hōitsu—with the elegance of Kaga Yūzen, creating a singular masterpiece. With this piece, you can adorn your room with the essence of Japanese beauty.

On the front left side, Tawaraya Sōtatsu's renowned "Matsushima," housed at the Freer Gallery of Art in America, is depicted. Pine, bamboo, and plum motifs grace the fan scattered over the rippling waves, woven with gold and silver threads.

The front right side features a gold-based background inspired by Kōrin's masterpiece "Red and White Plum Blossom." Against this backdrop, gold and silver Shikishi (decorative paper) adorned with flowers of the four seasons and Korin Karuta are artistically scattered.

The back left side showcases a gold-based background with Sakai Hōitsu's "Autumn Plants and Quails," interspersed with strips of paper featuring motifs from Hōitsu's "Birds and Flowers through the Twelve Months," housed in the Imperial Palace collection.

On the back right side, the intricate and realistic floral patterns of Kaga Yūzen are elegantly portrayed, highlighting their beautifully hand-drawn lines.

This obi encapsulates the essence of Japanese beauty, embodying an exceptional amount of time and technique. Remarkably, no motif is repeated along its over 4-meter length. The precision of the weaving is particularly evident in the "Korin Karuta," where the writing appears as if written by hand.
