Hikibaku Art Workshop: Japanese Lacquer and Real Gold Leaf Art Experience

Would you like to create gold foil chopsticks or an original art piece using lacquer and gold foil under the guidance of a certified traditional craftsman?

You can choose one activity from the following.

  • Sprinkle gold foil on a leaf, acrylic coat it, and use it as a bookmark, etc.
  • Apply gold foil to chopsticks and create your own pair
  • Bring your own smartphone case. Design it, create the gold foil parts, and the traditional craftsman Matsui will lacquer it to complete the work. It will be sent to you later (lacquer takes about a week to dry)
  • Create a freeform artwork on a 15 cm square wa-shi using lacquer and gold leaf. You can choose white wa-shi or lacquer-coloured wa-shi. The colour variation is as below. It will be sent to you later as lacquer takes about a week to dry

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are subject to charges starting 7 days before the experience date.

  • From the 7th day onward: 30%
  • The day before: 50%
  • On the day of the experience or no contact: 100%
