Cherry Blossom and Maple Trees by Hōitsu

This Maru-obi is woven with motifs inspired by the masterpiece "Cherry Blossoms and Maple Trees" by Sakai Hōitsu, known as a master of the Rinpa school.

The warp yarns are made with pure gold leaf, and the weft yarns with genuine gold leaf and platinum leaf, creating a gorgeous background with cherry blossoms on the front and maples on the back. Furthermore, around the cherry blossoms and maple trees, three different versions of Hōitsu's "Birds and Flowers of the Twelve Months" are arranged, creating a splendid fusion of boldness and delicacy, luxury and simplicity.

With genuine gold leaf and platinum leaf
