Sake Ware: Beer Tumbler

Among the works of Kikyo Gama, the "Beer Tumbler Series" is particularly popular for its relatively thick and substantial feel. When drinking beer from Yakishime tumblers, fine bubbles form, resulting in a smooth taste, which has led to an increase in the use of Yakishime tumblers. 

The glossy black surface of the tumbler, with its reflective quality that produces captivating reflections, along with its intricate landscape patterns, evokes the splendor of lacquered ware adorned with gold leaf. This effect is a natural outcome of ash settling on the pottery during the firing process, resulting in a serendipitous landscape that is uniquely achieved by chance. The reverse side of the tumbler features a deep, rich brown hue, further enhancing its sophisticated allure.
