Would you like to dress in a kimono and stroll through the historic streets of Kyoto? Before you do, why not immerse yourself in the rich heritage of Nishijin textiles? While you can find kimono rentals throughout Kyoto, this experience goes beyond mere attire—it's a journey into the artistry behind the fabric.
Before heading out in your kimono, witness a live demonstration of hand reeling filature and the meticulous weaving of the Jacquard loom by a certified Nishijin craftsman. You'll also have the opportunity to explore a small exhibition showcasing the beauty and history of Nishijin textiles. You can return your kimono on the day or the day after. Throughout this enriching experience, a dedicated interpreter will be with you, ensuring every detail is understood and appreciated.
