We have woven all 55 pieces of Utagawa Hiroshige's "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō," which includes the 53 stations as well as the starting point at Nihonbashi and the ending point at Sanjō Ōhashi. The production took about a year and a half, and all pieces were crafted with genuine gold leaf. Below are just a few highlights, but all 55 pieces are available for purchase.

Kyoto: The Great Bridge at Sanjō

It depicts Kyoto's Sanjo Ōhashi, the endpoint of the Tokaido journey spanning approximately 500 kilometersAlthough the bridge in reality was made of stone, it is portrayed as wooden. The elegant Sanjo Ōhashi over the Kamo River, the Higashiyama Mountains, the bustling people, and the evening sky are all beautifully expressed through weaving. The use of pure gold and platinum leaf gives the work an atmospheric effect different from that of a woodblock print.
