We have woven all 55 pieces of Utagawa Hiroshige's "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō," which includes the 53 stations as well as the starting point at Nihonbashi and the ending point at Sanjō Ōhashi. The production took about a year and a half, and all pieces were crafted with genuine gold leaf. Below are just a few highlights, but all 55 pieces are available for purchase.

Hakone: Kosui

Boldly portraying a landscape far removed from reality and the ruggedness of crossing the Hakone Pass, this powerful woodblock print is brought to life with unparalleled color sense and weaving technique of Nishijin artisans. The three-dimensional quality of the rocky terrain is achieved by layering yarns multiple times. The brilliance of the lake surface and the radiance of Mount Fuji, depicted with platinum leaf, along with the umbrellas of the people accented with gold leaf, exemplify the masterful application of foil honed over its long history, offering a texture and presence distinct from traditional prints.
