I wish you all a very happy New Year

As we approach the end of 2025, it is undeniable that this has been yet another year of profound transformation. Since summer, my days have been filled with commitments, leaving little time to update the blog. Nevertheless, I have continued to write and reflect, and from the coming year onward, I look forward to once again sharing my thoughts on Nishijin weaving and the Nishijin district itself.

Perhaps we are finally entering an era in which the value of handcraft is truly being recognized. At the same time, however, it feels as though we are moving beyond an age defined simply by the desire to possess things. Amid this shift, I find myself earnestly contemplating what can be offered as genuine luxury in the truest sense of the word.
